JOHOR BAHRU, 17 July 2025

SWM Environment Sdn Bhd, in collaboration with Yayasan Johor Corporation, has launched an initiative to collect 30 tonnes of glass bottles from 60 primary schools in Johor. The recycling campaign, named “Cabaran Kaca Pun Boleh,” will run from this month until November.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, SWM Environment’s corporate general manager, Mohd Norlisam Mohd Nordin, stated that the campaign’s objective is to increase awareness about the environmental advantages of recycling glass bottles, along with promoting sustainable waste management and biodiversity conservation. The initiative aims to engage various segments of the community through activities like the Creative Glass Bottle Recycling Video Competition and the STEM Innovation Challenge, which are designed to encourage participation from teachers, students, parents, and the broader community.

This year’s program builds on the positive response received in Johor and is supported by the Johor State Education Department, Johor Bahru City Council, and several industry sponsors. The campaign offers RM30,000 in prizes as an incentive, complementing existing initiatives such as the KITARecycle Glass Bottles campaign and the Glass Bottle Recycling Corner.
