It is necessary to sort recycled products into groups like paper, plastic, aluminum cans, glass bottles and others. On the day of collection, please put recyclables next to the wheelie bin (TSB - Tong Sampah Beroda). Please visit https://swm-environment.com/public/schedule-collection for more details on the recycling collection schedule.

The collection services are divided into two parts; a) household/domestic/organic waste, b) bulk waste, garden/park waste, and recyclable waste.

KITARecycle is a reward recycling program in the three states of the southern region of Peninsular Malaysia, namely Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, and Johor. It aims to motivate people to engage in recycling activities and earn reward points (Recycling Points = RP), which may then be exchanged for cash via online banking.

It is advised to sign up for KITARecycle to ensure that RP may be exchanged for cash through online banking. The KITARecycle app is available for free download from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.

If you are unable to register through the KITAREcycle application, you may do so at https://portal.kitarecycle.com/register on the KITAREcycle website. For further information, you can send any questions to support@kitarecyle.com.

Choose "Forget password" from the menu. A notification email with a link to reset your password will be sent to you. For further information, you can send any questions to support@kitarecyle.com.

Every KITARecycle member who registers will receive a special QR code that serves as both their identification and membership number, together with a serial number. You must group and bundle the recyclables according to category in order to collect and redeem the RP. Pease paste the QR code or serial number on the recyclables' packaging, and make sure it is prominently displayed for collection purposes.

More than 25 different recyclable materials, including paper, aluminum cans, plastic, electrical and electronic waste, are accepted by the KITARecycle program. Please visit the website www.kitarecycle.com for more details on KITArecycle.

You can register as a user and send the recyclables to the states that are under SWME’s services, namely in Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, and Johor. For further information, please email your inquiry to support@kitarecyle.com.

Domestic waste, often known as organic waste, is leftover food from cooking or purchased that is discarded by home members. This waste needs to be bagged tightly and placed inside the Whellie Bin (TSB - Tong Sampah Beroda). Large-scale waste, such as used mattresses and furniture, is referred to as bulk waste. Trees, twigs, and dry leaves in the yard area are examples of garden or park garbage that must be cut in smaller pieces and put in the plastic. Waste that can be recycled such as paper, plastic, aluminum cans, and other materials, is referred to as recycled waste or recyclables. Garden/park rubbish, recycled wastes, and bulk wastes needed to be put next to the TSB on the collection day.

The implementation of the collection service, commonly known as 2+1 collection, is as follows. a) Household/domestic/organic waste is collected twice a week. b) Bulk waste, garden/park waste, and recyclable waste are collected once a week. Visit https://swm-environment.com/public/schedule-collection to view the collection schedule.

The government has mandated that domestic or household waste must be collected twice a week under Act 672 (Solid Waste Management and Public Cleansing), but only once a week for recycling, garden waste, and bulk trash. Given a collection frequency of twice weekly, the 120 litres wheeled bins that have been provided to all owners of landed properties can accommodate the typical trash generation.

In Peninsular Malaysia and the Federal Territories, the Act 672 was implemented on September 1, 2011, and it governs the management of solid waste and public cleaning except Labuan, Penang, Perak, Selangor, Terengganu, and Kelantan.

Apart from large rubbish like garden waste or recycling waste, SWM Environment workers only collect garbage packages that are neatly tight and are placed inside the TSB as instructed in the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).

SWME's scope of work is as follows: a) Grass cutting - twice a month, b) Drain cleaning - once a month, c) Cleaning of the morning market, farmers market, and night market every day - after the end of business hours on daily basis, d) Cleaning of public roads, public markets, public beaches, public restrooms, and public places such as overpasses, bus stops, and others - every six or seven times a week. e) Animal remains and illegal waste are removed based on feedback/complaint. Note: Schedule and frequency subjected to change. Please contact Talian Indahkan Malaysia at 1-800-88-7472 or WhatsApp at 012-6180082 or email swmresponz@swmsb.com for more information.
