LABIS, 22 March 2025

Labis has set up a drive-thru recycling station for the first time . The public can download the mobile applications and register as a member, and send the recycbles
to the recycle station at any time in exchange for points, and convert the points into cash at anytime.

The drive-through recycling station is located at the Heroes Garden Multi-Purpose Hall. At the launch ceremony today, Umno Ting Neng State Assemblyman Haslinda said that the recycling station was set up by the Labis District Council and SWM Environment Sdn Bhd “People need to download KITARecycle, a mobile app  and register as a member. People will then receive a QR code and stick it on the outside of the recyclable plastic bag.”

She said that people can send recyclables to recycling stations at any time and will earn points; when they want to redeem the points, they just need to apply through the mobile app.

“This is a very good, advanced and organized way. In the past, people may have to collect a lot of recyclables and send them to the recycling center at one time, but now it is no longer necessary. In the past, people may only be able to exchange RM2 at a time, but now they can accumulate a certain amount through the application and then redeem it.”

Haslinda said that the relevant mobile phone application is still new to local residents, and the authorities need to step up publicity of the drive-thru recycling stations, first explaining them to the county council, and then to the neighborly programs, mosques and schools.

The event also distributed Hari Raya gift packs to those in need. Labis District Council Environmental Health Division Director Farhana, Southern Environmental Company General Manager Mohammad Norlijan and Malaysian Nisa Organization Chairman Laila were present at today's event.
