NEGERI SEMBILAN, 03 February 2025
A TOTAL of 45 underprivileged students in Negri Sembilan received back-to-school supplies.
The Yayasan Munarah X SWM Kasih Back to School initiative benefited both primary and secondary schoolchildren.
It was a collaboration between Yayasan Munarah, which is a charitable foundation set up by the Negri Sembilan royal family, and waste management company SWM Environment.
The students received school bags, stationery, art supplies and exercise books. Each child also received two pairs of school uniforms and shoes, trousers for sports activities and three pairs of socks.
In addition, male students were each given a pair of baju Melayu for school.
SWM Environment corporate general manager Mohd Norlisam Mohd Nordin said the charity programme reflected the company’s continuous efforts to support community development, particularly in the education sector.
“Education is key to a bright future. We are grateful to be able to play a role in helping to ease the financial burden of these families and contributing to their children’s future,” he said.
Yayasan Munarah board of trustees chairman and Tunku Besar Seri Menanti Tunku Ali Redhauddin Tuanku Muhriz presented the pupils with the supplies at a resort in Seri Menanti.
SWM Environment chief executive officer Ho De Leong, Mohd Norlisam and Yayasan Munarah trustee Tengku Datuk Seri Hasmuddin Tengku Othman joined Tunku Ali in handing out the gifts to the children.
The CSR programme was among SWM Environment’s various community initiatives.
